I have to say, if I am being honest, I really miss pizza…. Like a lot. I am around pizza frequently because my husband works with teenagers and, well, aren’t teenagers and pizza just synonymous? I have a lot of time to think about pizza, and smell pizza, and wish that I could eat pizza. Yes, it always used to make me sick, no I don’t miss being sick, I just miss the taste. Pizza used to be my favorite food, hands down, in fact my junior year of high school I had to have abdominal surgery and I have a distinct memory of going to get a Hawaiian pizza on the way home from the hospital following the surgery…. seriously.
All of that being said, this recipe doesn’t taste like the type of pizza you will remember from your gluten filled glory days, primarily because it is lacking cheese. It is a newer, healthier version of pizza. It will make you feel like you’re eating pizza, it is hearty and heavy like pizza and you can eat it with your hands, and it tastes deliciously sweet and savory. The crust is especially awesome.

I will probably never find myself getting another Hawaiian pizza from Pizza Hut in this life, but I have to say this new take on pizza makes that ok. Enjoy!
1 Chicken breast cooked and shredded
3 pieces of bacon cooked and crumbled
½ tsp of oregano
½ tsp of garlic powder
Make your crust as per the instructions at the link above, while it is cooking make your sauce and cook your chicken and bacon. When your crust and sauce are finished spread the sauce on the crust, sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder and add chicken and bacon. Put into the oven and bake for another 7 minutes.
